To Do Downtown

With a history and an unusual heritage, Trois-Rivières is known to be a major touristy destination in Mauricie. It groups as much stores as restaurants and events that provide to live a surprising experience. It welcomes the Grand Prix, every summer, which greatly participates to the social and economic development of Trois-Rivières and its region.

During this weekend, Des Forges Street fills of activities that show the downtown effervescent during the event. Streets are crowed just like stores, restaurants and coffee shops that benefit of exceptional traffic to every Grand Prix. Testimonies from merchants taken by the « Hedbo Journal » during the last edition confirm it « the Grand Prix it’s a must, we can not pass beside that » affirms Martin Lampron, part owner of the restaurant « Carlito » and the bar « Le Trèfle ». The party ambiance that emerges the Grand Prix reaches all the city’s poles like affirms again Martin Lampron, « It is crazy all week long from Wednesday; we already feel all the excitement that is around the event. It is the same in almost all kind of trade. » He also adds that « the races bring a lot of new people. The city changes during the Grand Prix. » So much aspects, that make of the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières one of the biggest pride of the city.

This year, some news will embellish the downtown life during and before the Grand Prix. The whole week, the downtown will hoist the Grand Prix colours with the legends boulevard and the banners to the GP3R effigy. All week long some themes will cross each other to offer a festivity atmosphere to the present public. You will have the opportunity to see the circus in city, the disco years, the motor sport and more themes.

Bars, restaurants, stores, coffee shops and delicatessen are there to offer you an entertainment experience. An offer for all tastes and all needs! The animation in downtown is a must in the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières’ experience.
