History

It was in 1967 that a local group of sports car devotees, members of the Club Autosport Mauricien (CAM), organized the 1st edition of the Grand-Prix de Trois-Rivières through the city streets. For many years this race in Trois-Rivières was unique in America. It was the only organized racing on city streets at that time. These race organizing pioneers launched an event that rapidly attained International status.

Supporting Series such as Formula Atlantic, American LeMans and Trans Am and highlighting the talents of Drivers including Gilles and Jacques Villeneuve, Patrick Carpentier, Alexandre Tagliani, Danica Patrick, Ron Fellows, David Emprigham and Paul Gentilozzi this event remains one of the most popular among both Drivers and Team Owners.

The GP3R remains the only Grand Prix allowing free access to the Paddock area. Race Fans can step right up and view race car preparation while mingling with Drivers and Engineers.
